Chapter Information

The PCNA Rocky Mountain Chapter, started in 2010, serves the states of Colorado and Wyoming. Members include registered nurses, nurse practitioners and other disciplines working in hospitals, clinics, community settings, cardiac rehabilitation, population care and clinical informatics. Unique characteristics of our chapter are that we serve a large geographic area and our professional membership is diverse.

The Rocky Mountain Chapter supports Cardiovascular professionals in their professional growth and practice by providing opportunities for education and networking. Our desire is to reach and engage cardiovascular professionals in our region, increase awareness of the benefits of PCNA membership and provide forums to share learnings and grow in knowledge of CVD prevention. The Rocky Mountain Chapter’s current goals are to increase engagement and participation in chapter activities as well as grow PCNA membership, and provide opportunities for professional learning and growth. Chapter activities include Journal Club CE events, exhibits at local professional conferences, a Fall Lecture Series CE program and Chapter meetings for networking. Both members and non-members are welcome to attend Chapter events and meetings.

In addition, we support the professional development of CV professionals through fellowship status, recognition and abstract submission for the PCNA annual national symposium.  Partner professional organizations help to further our reach and involvement in cardiovascular prevention in the state. These include: The Colorado Chapter of the American College of Cardiology, the Southwest Chapter of National Lipid Association, Society for Vascular Nursing and Million Hearts. The PCNA annual national symposium is well attended by chapter members and is consistently a high point in the year for all who are able to attend.

Past presidents include Susan Bush and Judith Collins. We especially want to acknowledge chapter members who are PCNA fellows - Susan Bush, Judith Collins, Sally Foland, and Cheri Nichols. We extend thanks to the Rocky Mountain chapter founders - Susan Bush, Judith Collins, Cheri Nichols, Lisa Jensen, and Julie Abramoff.

We warmly welcome new members! Please join us at our next event and consider joining PCNA if you are not already a member.
