Get to Know Your Chapter Leadership Team!

For the past 41 years, Michelle Wood, MSN, RN, AGCNS-BC, RN-BC, has worked with the cardiovascular patient population. In 1991, she came to Parkview Health and worked as a bedside nurse with both the medical and surgical cardiovascular patients. She became the clinical educator for Parkview Heart Institute (PHI) in 2012 before transitioning into her current role as a clinical nurse specialist (CNS), a position she’s held for the past 9 years. The rewards have been incredible. Whether she’s at the bedside with a patient, educating and mentoring nurses, conducting research, or facilitating change, she continues to grow and know this is where she needs to be.

Philip Roberts, MSN, MBA, RN, CCRN-CSC is a nurse manager for the cardiovascular intensive care unit at Parkview Heart Institute with 12 years of nursing experience.  Philip’s clinical interests include prolonged ventilation reduction, post open-heart surgery recovery, standardizing telemetry practices, and enhancing interdisciplinary communication in cardiovascular care. His patient‑care philosophy emphasizes early recognition, clinical judgment, and patient education. In cardiovascular care, he believes in combining technical skill with compassionate communication to help patients understand their condition, participate in their recovery, and feel supported through every stage of treatment.  In his spare time, he enjoys home renovation, traveling, and playing pool.

Ashley Timmons, BSN, RN, CV-BC, CHFN has been a registered nurse for 6 years, specializing in cardiovascular care on a cardiac progressive care unit. She served as a Nurse Lead early in her career before transitioning to her current role as Assistant Nursing Manager of a progressive cardiac inpatient unit in August 2025. Passionate about cardiovascular nursing, professional development, and patient-centered care, she is committed to supporting both patients and healthcare teams. As the Communications and Marketing Chair for the Northeast Indiana PCNA Chapter, she enjoys connecting members with educational opportunities and promoting engagement within the cardiovascular nursing community.
