Health Equity

It is the mission of PCNA to promote nurses as leaders around the world in equitable cardiovascular prevention and cardiovascular care management across the lifespan for all people. We recognize that nurses cannot do the work of preventing and managing cardiovascular disease without addressing persistent health inequities and pernicious systemic and institutional racism, which contribute to health disparities.

Climate Change

The science is clear: climate change is one of the most serious threats to human health we face today. As nurses, we have a duty to provide our patients, communities, families, and children with a safe and healthy future. PCNA is committed to increasing awareness among nurses on how climate impacts health and working collectively across the profession to build support for solutions.

Reducing Barriers

As new treatments for CVD and stroke are found to be scientifically valid and improve outcomes and are incorporated in evidence-based guidelines, it is imperative that innovative therapies are available to all eligible patients who agree to these treatments.

Read about the barriers, role of nurses in overcoming these barriers and PCNA position in our statement.
