  • Describe Cardiac anatomy, definition of endocarditis, types of endocarditis (right sided and left sided), risk factors, epidemiology (will focus more on IV drug users and Intravascular Devices).
  • Summarize pathophysiology, most common pathogens (microbiology), clinical manifestations, complications.
  • Identify radiographic findings and laboratory of infective endocarditis.
  • Explain the management of antibiotic therapy, surgical assessment, outcomes, and patient education.
