Course Overview
Throughout this 0.75 course, learners will review the burden of CVD on maternal mortality, learn about maternal risk factors and the importance of early identification and prevention of CVD, and explore health disparities related to maternal mortality, especially as it relates to access to care and racial and socioeconomic inequalities. This course will also explore a team-based approach and the nurse navigator’s role in reducing the risk of CVD in women of childbearing age.

Learning Objectives
1. Review the burden of CVD on maternal mortality and the important role.
2. List maternal risk factors and importance of early identification and prevention of CVD.
