Designed to strengthen lipid management expertise, this course helps nurses recognize the clinical significance of elevated LDL-C and Lp(a) and their impact on global cardiovascular risk. Through real-world perspectives and evidence-based practices, participants will learn how to detect lipid disorders earlier and engage patients with clear, personalized education. Nurses will emerge more confident in advancing coordinated, equitable care that mitigates hidden cardiovascular risks.

Learning Objectives

  1. Describe the clinical significance of elevated LDL-C and lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)] as an independent risk factor for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.
  2. Identify strategies for early detection, patient-centered education, and guideline-based management of elevated LDL-C and Lp(a) across diverse health settings.
  3. Discuss the lived experience of untreated, or undertreated lipid disorders, and the cardiovascular nurse’s role in improving outcomes through advocacy, coordination and team-based care.
