MaryBeth Vieira PhD, RN, CNE, is an Assistant Professor at the Johnson & Wales College of Health and Wellness Nursing Program.  She has over 27 years of clinical and nursing education experience. She received her undergraduate degree from Boston College in 1998, her Master of Science degree from UMass Dartmouth in 2006, and her PhD in nursing from UMass Dartmouth in 2018.  Her clinical experience centers around medical and surgical critical care, specifically in the adult cardiac population.  Her primary research focus is cardiovascular health in disadvantaged women, particularly regarding prevention of cardiovascular disease through physical activity.  She also has completed preliminary research on the complementary benefits of service learning in nursing experiential education.
