Margo B. Minissian, PhD, RN, ACNP-BC, NEA-BC, FAAN, is the Executive Director of the Geri & Richard Brawerman Nursing Institute and the Simms/Mann Endowed Chair in Nurse Education, Innovation, and Research at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles, California. In this role, she provides executive leadership for nursing education, professional practice, innovation, research, and quality across the health system. Her career has been dedicated to the prevention of cardiovascular disease, with a particular focus on women’s cardiovascular health.
Dr. Minissian earned her PhD in biological nursing research from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Nursing. She has authored more than 60 peer-reviewed publications, served on national guideline writing committees, and participated on American College of Cardiology (ACC) Scientific Sessions Planning and Steering Committees. She has also been a prominent nursing voice on Capitol Hill, advocating for cardiovascular health policy through the ACC and other national organizations.
A recognized leader in cardiovascular education, Dr. Minissian has contributed to the development of national educational programs and regularly speaks at professional meetings on topics including women and heart disease, adverse pregnancy outcomes and future cardiovascular risk, and dyslipidemia complicated by statin-associated muscle symptoms. Her contributions have been recognized with numerous honors, including the ACC Distinguished Associate Award, the highest honor bestowed by the ACC to a nurse or scientist.
