NOTICE: New Blood Pressure guidelines were recently outlined in the 2014 Evidence-Based Guideline for the Management of High Blood Pressure in Adults: Report From the Panel Members Appointed to the Eighth Joint National Committee (JNC 8) published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA). PCNA awaits publication of a new hypertension guideline recently announced by a group of professional organizations, including AHA, ACC, and ASH with anticipated publication in late 2014 or early 2015. We anticipate that these recommendations will be incorporated into a new iteration of our patient education materials.
